Glossary

What we mean by the terms we use, and where each one is covered in full.

Managed Runtime Assurance

Managed Runtime Assurance is the accountable operation of production applications, cloud platforms and AI systems so they stay observable, secure, resilient, cost-controlled and evidence-ready. It is the parent category Critical Cloud operates in. The boundary is simple: Critical Cloud operates the stack, the customer owns the product.

Critical Support

Critical Support is Critical Cloud's flagship Managed Runtime Assurance service: 24x7 incident response, improvement engineering and runtime operations across AWS and Azure. It is the service a customer can buy today, and it is where incident ownership actually sits.

Managed Observability

Managed Observability is the recurring operating layer that keeps telemetry useful, alerts clean and incidents ready to handle. Critical Cloud delivers it powered by Datadog. It was previously referred to as Managed Datadog.

Runtime Evidence

Runtime Evidence is the record a runtime produces about itself: incident records, access governance, change context, recovery evidence, SLO reporting and assurance packs. Critical Cloud operates and evidences the runtime controls that support a customer's compliance obligations. It does not make a customer compliant.

AI Runtime Operations

AI Runtime Operations is the AI expansion layer of Managed Runtime Assurance. It makes AI workloads, agentic workflows and model-serving infrastructure observable, governed and production-safe. Critical Cloud's governing principle here is that agents own the analysis and humans own the outcome.

Powered by Datadog accreditation

The Powered by Datadog accreditation is a designation Datadog awards to managed service providers whose managed service is genuinely built on the Datadog platform, following a formal technical review by Datadog's engineering teams. Critical Cloud is the world's first organisation to hold it. It is distinct from the standard partner tiers: Critical Cloud holds Datadog Advanced Partner status, and Premier is a higher tier in that standard structure.

FETCH

FETCH is Critical Cloud's rapid Datadog onboarding service: environment setup and instrumentation, live within days.

HyperCare

HyperCare is a two-week intensive sprint from Critical Cloud, run alongside the customer's own team after a go-live or an incident.

LaunchPad

LaunchPad is a fully project-managed Datadog rollout from Critical Cloud, covering architecture through to go-live.

HealthScan

HealthScan is an independent, read-only assessment of a Datadog environment by Critical Cloud, delivered in one to two weeks. It is an assessment and roadmap: it does not include tuning changes, rebuilds or agent rollouts.

Catalyst

Catalyst is backlog-led improvement engineering from Critical Cloud for organisations already running Datadog.

Accelerators

Accelerators are eight fixed-scope, four-week capability deliveries from Critical Cloud: Infrastructure Observability, Code Security, Cloud Security, Threat Management, Digital Experience, Software Delivery, Service Management and AI Observability.
